Hi could someone please help me?

I am having trouble posting/editing news in the admin section of my site. When i edit a new news item and click on the save news button it says its saved but in fact it has done nothing it stays the same as it was before.

It will only let me create a news item if i submit it but then i cant edit it in the admin section as i need to use the extended news feature.

I am not familiar with the Extended News feature but be patient and someone will help. Or link to your site so I can have a peek.

The extended news only apears when people click read more.

Ah...:p that one...there are so many infusions and addons.

Are You by any chance adding an image? Seems unlikely, but chance is that if You add an image and the /images/news folder is not chmod 777 it may cause a problem. Havent stumbled upon Your particular problem. Perhaps a browser cache issue?

I tested an extensive text, with Read more, limited to admins, and it did not save. I tested again with no Read more-text, limited to admins, and the same.

Have you tried disabling the wysiwyg editor TinyMCE and posting after that?
Were the other news posted with or without using TinyMCE...?

i have tried it with both the tinymce on and off and it still does the same, yes they were posted with tinymce. if you preview before saving it works fine but it seems like it just wont save it to the database properly.

Any code modifications? What version of PHPFusion did You start the site with?

A possible fix might be a reupload of the TinyMCE files, that would be what is in the /includes/jscripts folder of the installation files, overwriting existing, or, deleting the existing first.

Honestly, I am having trouble picturing what this is about, if that does not fix it.

i have not changed any of the code, i will delete the tinymce code and re-up it. i have started the site again from scratch with version 6.01.8. the only thing i have changed from the original is import the fusion_news table from the old database, could this be the issue, but when i change it back to the 6.01.8 fusion_news table i get:

Column 'news_sticky' in order clause is ambiguousColumn 'news_sticky' in order clause is ambiguous

hope this helps
