I have seen from other CMS's that it is quite practiced to give the admins the choice of having the side panels removed, or having just one side instead of the dual left-right panel style.

Now the question is... Will v.4 give webmasters the option to have a full left OR right side panel style instead of having both?

Sites with less content would particularly benefit from this as initially no one always has so much stuff to show.

Sites that are mainly for promotional information display are going to be cool on this one too.

If you know... post!

Thanks!

If you'll turn off all panels in one side, you'll not see that side column.

Don't think the new version will give you more options to control the side panels.

There are a couple of MODS though on the beta site for custom pages and articles which will give you the option to disable left and right side panels as you like for each individual custom page or article:

Just disabling or moving all panels to one side will make it so you only have 1 column of panels etc.

Yes, but downside by that is that it will be for all pages. It's a nice option to have full side panels e.g. on the start page and then you can limit the side panels where the page content should have more focus or space.

Woya made a MOD that makes it possible for you to colapse the side panels. That's quite handy and let the single user decide. You can check that feature out on his site:

Super Admin

You can safely remove

require_once "side_left.php";

You can replace

require_once "side_right.php";

With

echo "</td>\n";
