I've been so preoccupied with work that I overlooked that 7.02 was released shortly after I installed 7.01 for the first time. Talk about missing the boat. Now I have so much work already committed to 7.01 and it looks as though the two versions are incompatible.

I will do a test install of 7.02 to see if I like it better. If I don't, I hope there will be enough users who stay with 7.01 to continue the sense of community that I like here so much.

Hi there,

The majority of PHPFusion V7.01 Addons will work with 7.02
New 7.02 Addons that use new 7.02 functions will not work with 7.01

Any other Addons that are not compatible will work if the authors up date them.

User Fields all work, however they will not work for required unless updated to use the new API.

Most Existing Themes in the Addons DB if not all will work in V7.02

Go upgrade your site man, 7.02 is very nice. :)

My test install went as easily and beautifully as did the install for 7.01. I am relieved because from the comments I was afraid that 7.02 would look and feel unfamiliar. I see no reason not to upgrade my sites. I will of course back everything up first.

I think what I will do is leave the cowboy writer's site on 7.01 but do all future sites with 7.02.

No - the problem is still the same. Hehe, I just don't get it anymore. It have always being very easy for me to upgrade - both my own sites and many users sites too. But I guess Im not so "lucky" this time/with this version. But I have definitely not given up yet. I do like all the new features in v7.02.00 - but can't just test them yet.

@Ypsilon:
What kind of errors do you have? Report them please.

No one is a beta tester for v7.02, nearly everyone is able to use it without problems. There are a lot of changes around passwords / cookies and most users are able to upgrade without any problems (and we changed all the stuff around hashing).

We will release an update to fix most of the bugs reported yet and nearly every bug is a small one.

Version 7.02 is one of the best PHPFusion updates in a long time, I thank the Development for all the hard work you guy's have done, My site seems to be working flawlessly however I do have some of my Addons to update and user Fields apart from that it is stable.

Great Work Team DEV :)

So, current User Fields will continue to work unless they're check as required?

v7.02.01 is scheduled to be released in the next few days. It's still being finalised.

See roadmap for bug list: http://dev.php-fusion.co.uk/infusions...;rstatus=5

@philip: Is there any chance that we can upgrade from v7.01.05 directly to v7.02.01 - without upgrading to v7.02.00 first ? Because Im really having BIG problems regarding the update to v7.02.00 from v7.01.05
