Ok so I got to playing around with an already made theme, trying to get something I liked. I have always like Black and White, so I decided I would transform it into an Old Fashioned Newspaper Theme with some New Style.

The theme is not completed, but here is a sample of the looks.

Would like your opinion's.

Enlarging the image in the browser will let you see more of the effects I used in the header image.

Use two double columns for the news instead of 1 and 1 under each other. Looks more like a news page then

Actually it is using the FP News Panel, which shows double news. But because I only placed one news item in for an example it shows across the center panel. When more items are used then it will show the double panel.

Here is the link to the theme so it can be seen completely.

Edit above image in post 1 to reflect the whole theme.

I do have a question though. How would I make the background White, without doing this

background:url(images/xxxx.png) having to use a white image.

would I just use something like this

background: #ffffff

Does the moscow time look right now or did i go the wrong way.

I extended some borders on the theme, and made them more narrow

I need padding between the Left, Right and center panel, and can't figure it out.

This can be modified through CSS. Just add the padding attribute to the appropriate class.

In your style.css locate news-body, try changing padding to something like 20px so you can see a difference. If that's what you're talking about..

[syntaxhighlighter brush=css,first-line=1,highlight=0,collapse=false,html-script=false].news-body {
font-family: 'Times New Roman', Times, serif;
font-size: 12px;
font-weight: normal;
color: black;
padding: 20px;
border-width: 0 0px 0px 0px;
border-style: solid;
border-color: black;
background: white;
}[/syntaxhighlighter]

By the way, you can change padding to padding-left, and or padding-right.

@richard: Is this vintage enough http://gnatoday.com. The background is actually from the New York Times July 21, 1969, The day after the moon landing.

Also changed the fonts in the banner. plus added a marquee.

Anymore ideas for it let me know.
