Under the Main Setting there is the Site introduction and Site Description. The "Site introduction" displays with no problem. The Site Description does not display. I assume it is supposed to if I have text entered into it. :(

Site description does not show up on your site. It is used by search engines and will show up there.

For search engine to read the site descriprion, it has to be output bij the PHP code. The search engine cannot read from the database.

You'll find the content of site description back in the html code of your site. And of course de site description is stored in the database.

This is his site description:
<meta name='description' content='This website is dedicated to the owners and users of the TI-99/4A, Geneve 9640 Home and compatible computers. It is intended to be a &quot;clearinghouse&quot; for TI-99/4A and compatibles information. All information on this site is geared to TI99ers.&lt;br /&gt;' />

But it is also his site introduction.

Basically what these people are trying to say is that you have two fields in Settings. Description and Introduction. So far we all agree.

Now
[ulist=disc]Description is not visible on the site. It is intended for Search Engines who read the Meta Tag "description" off the code of your site. Se Example 2 from that link.
Introduction is the field that is visible where you write a few words about what the site is about.
[/ulist]
Many write the same text in both fields.

Both Douwe and Wanabo gives you the correct information, but I thought you might need a small list. It is not always very logical or self-explanatory to find your way in these terms.

Thank you for the information. Now that I understand it, I have a good idea of what I need to put into the "Description" box.
