Hello

I thought that the site that I am trying to rebuild was done with fusion 4, but I am now doubting that Fusion 4 even exists, and think I must have been mistaken!

How do I find out what version of fusion I have?

I need to download the full version so that I can get some missing files, mainly templates/header.php

Normally it would be in the footer for older version or you'd visit the admin page to see the version. If you have access to the database you an se the version in the settings table.

Hi I have this version in the version table

6.00.400

So my next question is what do I do now to get my site up and running?

Can someone provide me witha link to the zip file that contains all of version 6?

I think this is a better option isnt it?

I have 2 things to do, first is to get my site up and running where it appears as though not all of the files were copied into my backup

Second, I need to move all of the information into a new database because I need a new "God User"

Can someone advise the best course of action?

Is it to do a fresh install of Fusion 6 with a blank database then manually run SQL statements to copy the data?

I am familiar with database principles, although I havent got much experience with phpMyAdmin and MYSQL

Cheers

Paul

You should as hame suggests use the latest version of PF.

Step 1: Go here: http://www.php-fusion.co.uk/downloads...?cat_id=19
Step 2: Download PHPFusion Core 7 Edition
Step 3: Unzip it into a file on your pc
Step 4: Read and understand the installation instructions before you do anything.

Do a full back of any existing site files and database before you do anything.
If you still have problems, come back here

p.s. if you decide to stick with v6, do the same except download v6.01.18

Ive decided to stay with version 6 for now because I am under serious pressure to get this site back up and running and I really dont know what I am doing

Upgrading to version 7 could give me more problems as I dont know if all the parts of the site would be compatible

I have unzipped and copied the 2 files onto my site, but when I try to run upgrade.php I get the error

Unable to establish connection to MySQL
2002 : Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)

I have a valid config.php file in the root?

Did you have any MODs installed when you did the Backup?? Also did you disable Infusions before running a Backup?? If No, your gonna have to go back and add those Mods again (for ver7) to get rid of these errors.

I think it is imminent that you have a properly working 'v6.00.400' site before you start running upgrades. However, there is the slight problem that v6.00.400 was never released as such but as v6.01.1. Can you send me a copy of the database, so I can check which version you actually have?

Hello

Thanks for your help everyone

Right, now that the sites up and running using the link I was given above to 6.01.18 I can start to investigate more

The most important thing I need to do is to get all the data out of the database and into an empty database. Is there a recommended way to do this?

I need to do this because I want to remove the "God account" which I cant change through the interface

I then want to look at updating to Fusion 7

I can make all of these changes without affecting my main site because I am going to setup separate databases

The only thing I need to do before all of the above is to get the site operating from the root of my domain, at the moment it is in a sub folder
