I have been working on loading an avatar for my profile, but somehow it doesn't seem to happen. I am able to load photo's to other areas, but the avatar photo doesn't seem to load yet. I have condensed the photo file as fart as I can, and it is also within the size limits required, but after I select browse, there is no button for uploading the file, and clicking on Update Profile after clicking browse then selecting a file does not seem to bring a photo into the avatar portion of the profile page.

Can someone show me what I have done wrong here? Thanks.

Try refreshing your edit profile page after uploading the avatar. (ctr & F5).

Here is the list of steps I take to try to load an avatar:
1) Click browse.
2) Choose the file with the avatar pic in it.
3) Click on the pic I want to be the avatar.
4) Click Open.

Unless I am mistaken, there should be a button somewhere that allows the pic that I want to actually upload. But that button does not exist on my page, and the only other button says update profile. When I click update profile, name of the file does not appear anywhere in the browse "text-box" window.

I can't get the pic to show up when clicking refresh either before or after the clicking update profile button. Is there anything else I can do.

Maybe your folder permissions are not right or try this maybe:

1) Click browse.
2) Find the avatar file.
3) Double click on the file you want to be the avatar (that should select avatar and close the window)
4) You should be back at the edit profile window now
5) Click update Profile

There is not meant to be an upload avatar button or anything just the Update Profile button.

Please check the images/avatars folder is CHMOD 777

mstokens, and Fangree_Craig: Hi, I appreciate the way you have been responding and trying to help me out..

mstokens, I have been doing that and it doesn't work yet.

Fangree_Craig, I have tried to change the images/avatars folder, I was able to change the perms to 777, but I can't find anything that lists a CHMOD??

I think, You need to check the permissions of file, Some time file don't have to write permission.

You might be right about this, although I own the domain where the site is going, the fact that I am using a free version of PHPFusion, and a Free Web-host may have limited my ability to control what I supposedly own... :@

Chmod is just another term used for file permissions so nothing to look for as long as it set to 777 it should work.
