I'm excited. Why? Google Chrome.

What is it? It's a browser made by Google. Enough of what I say, read this:

Harry McCracken of PCWorld wrote:
Chrome is ambitious for sure--not a me-too product or a rebranding of
someone else's browser, but a significantly new entrant that, on paper
at least, sounds mighty appealing. Highlights:
--It has a tab-centric interface, with a default home page that shows
snapshots of your favorite sites and new memory management techniques
designed to prevent tabs from bogging down your browsing;
--It uses sandboxing to prevent malware from doing damage to your PC;
--It includes built-in anti-phishing;
--It uses an all-new JavaScript implementation designed to provide
snappy performance for Web-based applications.

I downloaded it and it's pretty good. But I haven't done anything really in it, but view 3 or 4 pages, so I'm not sure if it's actually competition to other browsers on the market, or if it's all talk because it has the word "Google" on it.

It's got a nice blue interface, and gives you a fuller view of the webpage, because of where the tabs are placed. And it loads PHPFusion two or three times faster than FireFox (well, for me (so far)). And it has some very nice (and convenient) features from FireFox, and you can import your bookmarks, passwords, etc easily. And lastly, once you accept the agreement (by clicking the submit button), there is no wizard to set it up. It simply installs itself (for once a nice program!).

Enough of talking about it, why don't you try it out?

Edit: just to tell you, I'm using XP right now.

Data collection was anounced as a mistake (hard to believe Google made a mistake :P ). Anyway, as Homdax said, it is being removed. (I had an article link, not anymore though.)

And yes, MANY bugs have been found, and still are. Hey, but it's not as bad as IE. :P

The Data collection is being removed.

I would advice anyone to wait for next release since a lot of potentially very dangerous bugs have been found. Some heavy Security instances are warning against Chrome in this version, both in NL and DE.

And I don't support any data collection ;)
My privacy is more important than a fast javascript engine....

Firefox ftw :p

Actually, reading this was a bit of a revelation to me. I am not a programmer and do not know much about what makes things crash and such, but that series made a whole lot of sense. In many ways.

And please remember it is a BETA. Anything can happen.

Use CTRL+B to hide Bookmark bar and you are almost in fullscreen ;)

Heh, didn't know that. But I'm going to wait until it's out of Beta to use it again.

Why? Because a lot of exploits have been found already. And a main one is that .exe files can be downloaded without user consent.

It doesn't open a new tab for me in phpMyAdmin...

Anyway, it's kind of ironic that the ONLY browser that Google Toolbar isn't compatible with is Google Chrome. :P

Google Chrome seems a little, well, plain. I have so many addons in FireFox that it's like I'm downgrading. But it's faster startup and page load times, or addons.

And it's a tiny bit annoying that you can't go into fullscreen with F11.

Not to bad. I like how the tabs are placed.
I think it will convert a lot of IE users, just for the fact of the name "Google".

However, I'm still going to remain using Opera.
Seems more responsive and quicker than all other browsers.

Heh, interesting. Well I like Chrome, regardless of whether FireFox 3.1 is faster by .x milliseconds... :P

Besides, Google Chrome loads up faster than FireFox. But I have a lot of addons that I need sometimes, so I use both now.

@Matonor, very true. It may get a good few IE user's attention...
