Attack on PHPFusion Support Sites
As many of you are aware a number of PHPFusion Support Sites have been hacked in the last 12 hours. This incident occured because one admin on Open Beta had his password leaked. The hacker used this password to login and steal all registered users passwords including members of many support sites. The hacker has used this information to cause wide-spread damage to PHPFusion Support Sites generally by destroying the user database tables. I am extremely angered by this attack, and I can only apologise for this incident. My advice to everyone is to change your password, and never use the same password for more than one site. As far as I know there is no security hole involved in this attack so try not to panic. Thanks. Update: The culprit has been identified, the cause of this charade? A php-fusion site using the old messages.php (cmsart) of which one of our admins was a member. The hacker used the sql injection known to the old messages.php. This matter has been dealt with. There is no current security issue.

Stepping Down
Effective immediately I am stepping down and away from PHP Fusion for several reasons of which I will not go into detail. This community has been a mark in my life timeline and I will never forget it. I am not leaving completely as I will have a few duties to fullfill but I wont be around as much as I normally am. I have been told that I will remain a SA so that I can check in from time to time and see how things are going. I wish everyone in the community, and the staff all the luck in the future.

Fusion Community Crew - Restructuring in Progress
As some of you may have noticed, (mostly Fusion Crew), access privileges have been revoked for everyone except a select few. We are currently undergoing a few changes to the staff structure before we release the next version which is almost ready, but again, for now, it will be released when the Beta Crew is happy. The reason these changes are taking place is because we have many staff who are inactive or are suited better for a different area. With the new restructuring, hopefully there will be more organization and better support, (for the next release!) For the staff, if your access has not been restored by tommorow please email me at my Fusion address which is always sheldon [AT] php-fusion.co.uk. (I hate SPAM!) Update: Note that the new thread tracking function has been installed and is ready to go. Red signifies a thread still needing or requiring help, green means the issue has been resolved. For staff, simply click the icon to change its status.

Server Outages
Today's server outages was caused by a rogue employee at the datacenter causing issues with our CISCO Catalyst switch. He managed to turn off the ports to our DNS cluster machines which caused the entire network to go down. For future reference the IP to the Fusion UK server is 69.50.235.12. Unfortunately you cannot access Fusion Mods this way because it is on a shared server network instead of a dedicated machine. We apologize for the outage and are working as fast as humanly possible to restore acess to the websites. Update: We are back! All Fusion UK, MODS, and Open Beta should be online! Please note, their may be intermittent outages, throughout the rest of the day while we tweak the network! Thanks.

TeamSpeak Server
A TeamSpeak server has been setup and is available as a TRIAL RUN for the the entire community to access. You will need to download the TeamSpeak client available from http://goteamspeak.com/. The settings for connecting are as follows: Server URL: ts.php-fusion.co.uk - 69.50.235.10 For those on firewalls you will be connecting on port 8767 Once logged in you should go to "SELF" > "Register with server" and register a username. Then on next connect you can login with your username and password. For those who wish to use their mics and talk with others I suggest using the PUSH TO TALK feature instead of the Voice Activation features. To change this go to "Settings" > "Sound Input/Output Settings" and select "Push to Talk" then "Set Key" - I personally use the left Ctrl button (its not used for anything) Remember this is a trial run - however enjoy and have fun.

PHP Fusion MODS
Quote: helmuth @ Open Beta We have started the transfer of all the submitted MODS and Infusions from http://www.phpfusion-mods.com. We feel the best way to get these submissions to work is to let YOU try them out and report back how they work, before they are 'officially released'. Yes, we know it's a huge pile that we slip out these days, but what good can the submissions do when they're awaiting approval at the mods site? So this is where you, dearest member, come in ... you're feedback will be speeding things up, and the developers can then earn the credits they need. Enjoy !

A Number of Changes
A number of changes have been made within the last 24 hours. Two staff have been added or should I say promoted to new positions to help with the new work load and loss of other key Fusion community staff. So firstly id like to congratulate and thank flyingduck for stepping up to the task at hand and helping over at Open Beta as the sites new Super Administrator under myself. He will be directing the site workings and taking care of day to day operations. As well will be working closely with the new Super Administrator of Fusion MODS. And that brings me to AusiMods; has graciously agreed to help out at PHP Fusion Mods to try and take over Rayxen's old position. This is a huge undertaking and I apreciate it very much, most people dont realise the work that gets done behind the scenes at this community.

PHP Fusion Mods - Down
Hi all. This is an update to stop rumours before they start to happen. There have been a few hackers sending spam through the PHP Fusion Mods website. This is most likely a hole that was released for the 6.00.1xx version that was patched in v6.00.2xx due to the fact that Fusion Mods is still running on 1xx because of the MODDB. So the site for now remains suspended until I can get a chance later tonight to try and locate how they are doing this. I will endeavour to have the site back up and running sometime tommorow. Any questions or comments can be emailed to me at sheldon @ php-fusion.co.uk.

House Cleaning
As some of you may know we have been busy working in the background to get things running again smoothly. Some of you have been asking what sort of development and work is going on? A few brief things tho, which I'm sure most of you will be over joyed with. Seeing as CrappoMan has been MIA for quite some time now Digitanium is working on a new photogallery amongst other things. Which is why Digi for the most part is not around as much. Click read more...

Fusion Kubrick
I recieved an email tonight from Dominik (dodo1983) who has successfully modified PHP Fusion to look and act like Wordpress. I must say, its an incredible feat. I challenge the rest of the community to come up with other concepts that PHP Fusion is capable of. View Dominik's website here: http://www.fusionkubrick.glt.pl Have something similar to this? Have you something that you think is worthy of mention on the front page of PHP Fusion. Submit your story to Sheldon at sheldon@php-fusion.co.uk

Utilizing other PHP Fusion Administrators
If you have ever tried getting ahold of Digitanium you probably know hes a very busy guy and sometimes cant get back to everyone. You might even know this by visiting the site quite often and seing multiple shoutbox posts asking Digitanium to check his email or PM box. What most of you dont know is that he checks them hourly and yet his PM box is 99% of the time FULL! What I find odd is that everyone feels they have to contact Digitanium? Why? Why of course hes our head Administrator and Lead Developer however there are other administrators on this site here to help you. As of right now im going to start asking everyone to only contact Digitanium if its something only he can fix or only something he can assist you with. For the most part you should be using the forums to ask for help not sending emails to Digitanium or PM'ing him, hes a busy guy. If you have a problem or need some help use the forums first and foremost. Next you can email an admin but try the other admins before Digitanium. You can reach myself for help at the following email address: sheldon@php-fusion.co.uk Feel free to contact me about anything you may have issues with. Update: PHP Fusion Themes is back online. Sorry for the downtime folks!

Official Support Sites
This is a quick announcement asking all Official Support Site Administrators to please contact Sheldon. We are creating an area for site administrators so that we may better communicate. Note this is only for current support sites, if you wish to become an official support site you may PM either Digitanium or myself and you will be taken under consideration. Please note that we prefer to have one site per nation/language. Note: PHP Fusion MOD Support Sites please contact Sheldon via the Fusion Mods website.
