Besides a few minor problems and false starts, the recent release of v7.01 was a welcome and much needed upgrade and it's that momentum that we want to keep going. We're now at v7.01.01 and work is ongoing. As you can see from the news item below the Dev site is now open to the public and you can participate in v7.02, codename; "The Essential" where the features submission is now open for business. One of the great new features we can look forward to is Forums Sub-Categories, a facility I know many of you have been asking for for a long time.

The management structure has also undergone some changes. Following on from the recent Management Team meeting, it has been decided to create the post of Project Manager whose job will be to oversee the project as a whole and to keep it on track. That job was given to me and I'd like to thank the other team members for their trust and confidence.

The first thing I decided to do was to optimize the management structure. The Management Team will remain the same, but the way we run the sites will be streamlined.

Admittedly, we fell seriously behind in development over the last year or so but, we're over that now and we're working to get things moving again. v7.02 is scheduled for release on 01/03/11, it will be frozen for testing on 01/01/11 so, get those feature requests in early.

We're also in the final planning stages of merging the three sites into one easier to use site. We hope to start testing the new site in the next 2 weeks and depending on test results we'll post a launch date as well as more information about it soon after.

If you have any thoughts or input, please let me or any of the staff members know.

Update:

The merge of the 3 main sites is going ahead as planned. Testing will begin on 1st Oct and the new site will launch on 1st Nov. We'll post some screenshots here in the next week or two to give you a sneak peek.

Update[2]:

The staging site for the testing and configuration of the new merge site is now up and running and can be viewed here.

Best wishes,
Philip
