PHPFusion v3.05 set for May 1st
Version 3.05 of PHPFusion is pencilled for release on the 1st of May 2004, this is the absolute deadline, release may be a little sooner if all goes well. Recent security concerns pushed back the release, but I believe v3.05 will be the most solid release so far. I must point out that there is to be a change in the folder structure (see log). I realise this is going to make upgrading a bit more difficult, but it is a vital part of making PHPFusion more modular. Thankyou for your support!

Hackers target PHPFusion
It is sad for me to see this happen, but with PHPFusion still being fairly new it's subject to being targetted by hackers. Two sites have already suffered huge hits with thousands of registrations by means of user names made up of random letters. This is a set-back but not the end of the world, high profile php scripts will always be targeted by people whom I regard as internet terrorists. That's life unfortunately. To prevent a recurrence of this incident I've added a code validation routine to register.php, it requires the registrant to key in a code, it should prevent any kind of automated registrations. All PHPFusion webmasters are urged to download the file Here.

v3.05 news
Phew I am smokin! It's a busy old time here at this moment, I'm busy trying to cram in as many updates as possible to make PHPFusion even better. I'm confident now that this is evolving into something special, and hopefully it'll continue to improve steadily. So what's new I hear, well so far I've added a Guestbook (go figure!), an Article submission feature (like Submit News). Perhaps the most interesting addition is the Custom Pages admin panel. This will allow you to add new pages from the Admin Panel, it'll accept normal HTML code or PHP code, it's so simple it'll even add the link to your Site Links! Cool huh? Are you excited yet? No, oh well! New today, restricted forum access levels! By popular demand this is to be implemented at last PHPFusion v3.05 is out........Soon! Don't ask when, I hate that! It's just rude! There's no Confusion where there's PHPFusion!

Guestbook Released
The first release of the guestbook code for PHPFusion is now available. Simply upload the files to your server and run the script gbinstall.php, this will add the new database table. Once you have done that, delete gbinstall.php. Finally create a new link to guestbook.php in your Site Links area of your Admin panel.

Minor stripinput function problem
I've been reviewing how well the recently introduced stripinput function is performing. As I explained, the main reason for dropping the use of htmlentities (to strip out harmful html from certain elements) was to improve PHPFusion's adaptability for Eastern Languages. Work is ongoing to make PHPFusion ready for Eastern support, but during work I discovered a very small flaw. The stripinput function fails to remove unneeded backslashes (that's \ not /), now this isn't really a problem, since stripslashes can override them, but, as I intend to bring in wc3 xml compliancy in the near future I want to address this now rather than later. So i'm working on an emergency patch to remove these unneeded slashes from your database. Don't Panic! This is not a serious problem, just a minor irk that I personally would prefer to be ironed out.

PHPFusion v3.04
v3.04 of PHPFusion is now available as an both an upgrade from RV3 and as a stand-alone full installation. v3.04 is more of a service release aimed towards ironing out a few small problems. v3.04 also sees PHPFusion losing the X3 RV tag in favour of a more traditional version number. All CSS files are now w3c compliant in preparation for PHPFusion's move towards XML 1.2 compliancy (coming soon). Read More for the full update log. Download PHPFusion v3.04

PHPFusion to lose X3 tag
I've decided to rebadge PHPFusion X3 to PHPFusion. I'm also dropping the RV extension. Future releases will be PHPFusion v3.0x, beginning with v3.04 which may come sooner than planned. I've already made adjustments to the way locales and character sets are set. I'm also in the midst of writing a comprehensive FAQ to answer commonly asked questions, this will be up soon. v3.04 won't be ground breaking but more of a minor service update. I'll update you all soon!

PHPFusion X3 RV3
I'm delighted to announce the release PHPFusion X3 RV3. The most notable addition in this release is the much requested Multi-Language feature. Primarily available in English and Danish, PHPFusion X3 RV3 is my first true multi-lingual creation made possible only by the broadening user base. The second key point of PHPFusion X3 RV3 is that most, if not all of the quircks discovered in RV2 have been put right. I believe this release has a much more solid foundation on which I can build upon, and I fully intend to keep building on what I now realise is something with great potential. PHPFusion X3 RV3 is available as an upgrade for existing users and as a full installation for new users. For details on new additions, changes & fixes, click Read More. Download PHPFusion X3 RV3. Please refer to the included Readme file for installation/upgrade instructions.

As part of the continued update to the core variables, PHPFusions three cookies have been renamed as follows: x2user - fusion_user, visited - fusion_visted and lastvisit - fusion_lastvisit. Should you encounter any problems logging in, you may need to delete the digitaldominion.co.uk cookie from your cookie folder. Thank you for your patience and continued support!

PHPFusion Language files
The Language files for PHPFusion X3 are nearly ready, translation volunteers have been selected, please check This Forum Thread. I will be Private Messaging volunteers with a download link within the next week so that translation can begin. I'm working as fast as possible, but I can confirm tests have been conducted successfully on the updated install.php script. There are just a few more bits to sort out, including the upgrade.php script to upgrade RV2 to RV3. It's coming!

PHPFusion X3 RV3 Update
No it's not ready yet Just a message to let you know that I am still working on PHPFusion X3 RV3, but it's release is now scheduled for the first week in April. The main reason is that I want to ensure that the minor bugs are completely ironed out. I also need more time to work out how to utilise the file hosting provided by SourceForge.net. Update: The Admin Panel and Main Site language files are complete, just the forum language files to do, then the upgrade script to write. I'm getting closer!

PHPFusion X3 RV3
PHPFusion X3 RV3 will be released in around 2 weeks. This release will see a number of irritating bug fixes and typo corrections, but more significantly will include multi-language support. Although it will initially only be in english, I will add more languages as soon as folks return their translations to me. Full credit will be given to each Translator. To volunteer officially, please post in my Translation Volunteers Thread. One volunteer per language, first come first rights! lol. You can keep up to date with my coding in the RV3 Dev Log.
